Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, and toileting.
  • Monitor and accurately record vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure) and report any changes to the nursing team.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to residents to promote mental well-being and social interaction.
  • Ensure the cleanliness, safety, and comfort of the resident's living environment.
  • Assist in the mobility of residents, including safe transfers and ambulation using appropriate assistive devices.
  • Support the execution of individualised care plans and rehabilitation activities as directed by senior nurses and therapists.
  • Assist with medication reminders and basic first aid procedures as required.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of care provided and observations made during the shift.

Qualifications

  • Minimum SPM or equivalent. A Certificate in Patient Care / Nursing Aid / Geriatric Care is an advantage.
  • Previous experience in elderly care, long-term care, or a hospital setting is highly valued.
  • Must be a compassionate, patient, and empathetic individual with a genuine desire to help others.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to speak Bahasa Malaysia and English.
  • Physically fit and able to assist with manual handling and mobility support.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or First Aid is an added advantage.
  • Willingness to work shifts (including weekends and public holidays) as required in a 24/7 care environment.
  • Team player with a positive attitude and a commitment to continuous learning.
