Responsibilities
- Prepare and dispense prescribed medications accurately under the supervision of a registered pharmacist.
- Manage inventory levels, including receiving, storing, and rotating stock to prevent expiry.
- Assist patients and caregivers with medication queries and provide clear instructions on usage.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant pharmacy workspace in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards.
- Process prescription orders through the pharmacy information system, ensuring data integrity.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless medication supply for inpatient and outpatient services.
- Perform regular stock checks and participate in monthly inventory audits.
- Support the implementation of quality improvement initiatives within the pharmacy department.
Qualifications
- Minimum GCE 'O' Level or equivalent; certification in pharmacy services (e.g., WSQ Higher Certificate in Healthcare (Pharmacy Support)) is preferred.
- Prior experience as a pharmacy assistant or in a healthcare setting is an advantage.
- Strong numerical skills and attention to detail for accurate medication handling.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays as required by hospital operations.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications (MS Office, inventory systems).
- Commitment to patient safety and confidentiality.
- Physically fit to stand for extended periods and handle light to moderate lifting of medication boxes.
