Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection procedures on patients of various age groups
- Ensure proper patient identification and specimen labeling to maintain accuracy
- Maintain inventory of phlebotomy supplies and equipment
- Adhere to safety protocols and infection control procedures
- Properly document all blood collection activities and patient information
- Prepare specimens for transportation to laboratory departments
- Provide clear instructions to patients regarding preparation for blood tests
- Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure smooth workflow operations
Qualifications
- Certificate or diploma in Phlebotomy, Medical Laboratory Technology, or related field
- Prior experience in blood collection or clinical laboratory setting is preferred
- Proficiency in venipuncture techniques with minimal discomfort to patients
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standard operating procedures
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a busy healthcare environment
- Basic computer literacy for data entry and record keeping
- Physically capable of standing for extended periods and handling repetitive tasks
