Responsibilities and daily tasks will span optimizing processes, conducting QC checks, programming and operating grinders and CNC mills, reading drawings, and documenting improvements. This role is ideal for professionals who combine technical skill with a practical, hands on approach to problem solving.
Responsibilities
- Optimize and monitor manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, yield and part quality.
- Plan and execute quality inspections and QA activities, including documentation and SPC data collection.
- Set up, program and operate precision grinding and machining equipment to produce tight tolerance parts.
- Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and process specifications to ensure conformance with requirements.
- Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Collaborate with engineers and operators on process improvements and new product launches.
- Maintain equipment, perform routine maintenance, and contribute to 5S and safety on the shop floor.
Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in mechanical engineering, manufacturing, or a related field, or equivalent hands on experience on the shop floor.
- Experience in precision manufacturing, machining, and working with grinders and CNC equipment.
- Proficiency with metrology tools (calipers, micrometers) and measurement systems; ability to read complex drawings and GD&T.
- Familiarity with quality management systems (ISO 9001) and problem solving methodologies (5 Why, 8D).
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a team environment.
- Excellent communication, planning, and time management; willingness to learn and adapt in a fast paced setting.
- Commitment to safety, 5S, and continuous improvement; available for shift rotation if required.
