Are you an experienced driver looking to build a career in the heavy construction industry? Paling Construction is currently seeking a reliable, safety-conscious Lorry Driver to join our expanding team in Bintulu, Sarawak. You will play a critical role in our supply chain, ensuring that essential materials reach our construction sites efficiently and safely.
As a key member of our logistics crew, you will operate heavy commercial vehicles to transport construction aggregates, equipment, and building supplies. We pride ourselves on operational excellence, and we are looking for a professional who takes pride in vehicle maintenance and strictly adheres to traffic regulations. This contract position offers a great opportunity to work on large-scale infrastructure projects that are actively shaping the Bintulu community.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate construction lorries to transport materials to and from designated work sites.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness.
- Load and unload materials securely, ensuring proper weight distribution and load safety.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, trip reports, and fuel consumption records.
- Coordinate with site supervisors to ensure timely arrival and efficient project progress.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, site safety protocols, and company regulations.
- Report any mechanical issues or maintenance requirements to the workshop team immediately.
- Maintain a clean and organized cabin and vehicle exterior at all times.
Qualifications
- Possess a valid GDL (Goods Driving License) with a clean driving record.
- Minimum 2 years of experience operating heavy commercial vehicles or lorries.
- Familiarity with the Bintulu and Sarawak road networks.
- Physical stamina to handle loading/unloading tasks when required.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and hazard awareness.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends if the project schedule requires.
- Good communication skills in Bahasa Malaysia or English.
