Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets and cash flow forecasts for construction projects.
- Conduct tender evaluations, analyse subcontractor quotations and negotiate contract terms.
- Monitor project expenditures, implement cost control measures and prepare regular financial reports.
- Perform value engineering and identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality.
- Advise on contractual matters, variations and claims, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, architects and subcontractors to maintain clear communication throughout the project lifecycle.
- Assist in the preparation of final accounts and settlement of project close‑out documentation.
- Stay updated with industry trends, construction methodologies and emerging cost‑estimation software.
Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 3‑5 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry, preferably on commercial or infrastructure projects.
- Proven proficiency with cost estimation software (e.g., CostX, Buildsoft, Sage Estimating) and MS Office suite.
- Strong understanding of construction contracts, tender processes and local building regulations in Singapore.
- Excellent numerical, analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, capable of presenting complex financial data to diverse audiences.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team under tight deadlines.
- Professional certification (e.g., RICS, SISV) is advantageous but not mandatory.
