Responsibilities
- Source, evaluate, and onboard potential suppliers and vendors to ensure a robust supply chain.
- Negotiate favorable pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules with vendors to maximize cost savings.
- Prepare and process purchase orders (POs) and track shipments to ensure timely arrival of materials.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with production and warehouse teams to prevent stockouts or overstocking.
- Conduct regular market research to stay updated on industry trends and price fluctuations.
- Analyze supplier performance and implement corrective actions where necessary to maintain high standards.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date procurement records, including contracts and pricing databases.
- Collaborate with the finance department to ensure timely payment of invoices and resolution of discrepancies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of proven experience in a purchasing or procurement role, preferably within the manufacturing sector.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to build and maintain long-term supplier relationships.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Solid understanding of supply chain management, logistics, and inventory control principles.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills in both English and Bahasa Malaysia.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
