We are a dynamic and growing food manufacturing company based in Pasig City, seeking a seasoned Purchasing Manager to lead our procurement and supplier management operations. In this key leadership role, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategic sourcing initiatives, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of high-quality raw materials, packaging, and MRO supplies. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including production, quality assurance, and finance to optimize supply chain efficiency and drive continuous improvement. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic purchasing plans to support production schedules and business objectives.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to achieve cost savings and ensure supply reliability.
- Manage and evaluate supplier performance through KPIs, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Oversee the procurement of raw materials, packaging, and indirect materials in compliance with food safety and quality standards.
- Forecast demand and inventory levels to minimize stockouts and reduce excess inventory costs.
- Collaborate with production, R&D, and quality teams to source new ingredients and optimize specifications.
- Lead the purchasing team, providing coaching, performance feedback, and professional development.
- Ensure all procurement activities adhere to company policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive purchasing experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial capacity.
- Proven experience in the food manufacturing industry is highly preferred.
- Strong negotiation, contract management, and vendor relationship skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a data-driven mindset.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint).
- Solid understanding of food safety regulations (e.g., HACCP, GMP) and quality standards.
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and cross-functional team collaboration skills.
