About the Role: The Purchasing Specialist will manage the entire procurement cycle from identifying reliable suppliers to processing purchase orders and ensuring timely delivery. You will be responsible for maintaining an approved vendor list, negotiating contracts, and monitoring market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality. This role requires a deep understanding of the generics landscape, including patent laws, bioequivalence standards, and generic substitution regulations in the Philippines.
You will ensure that inventory levels are perfectly aligned with demand, preventing costly stockouts while optimizing working capital. Adherence to strict quality standards and regulatory compliance with the FDA, PDEA, and other relevant bodies will be a cornerstone of your daily activities. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Sales, Warehouse, Quality Assurance, and Finance to forecast requirements, evaluate supplier performance, and secure the most advantageous terms.

Responsibilities
- Source, evaluate, and select suppliers for trade generic medicines and pharmaceutical supplies.
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and service level agreements to achieve cost savings and supply assurance.
- Process purchase orders accurately and ensure timely delivery to maintain optimal inventory levels.
- Monitor supplier performance and conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with quality and regulatory standards (FDA, PDEA).
- Coordinate with the warehouse and logistics teams to manage stock levels and minimize stockouts or overstocks.
- Stay updated on market trends, pricing fluctuations, and new product availability in the generics market.
- Prepare and present procurement reports and analytics to management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Nursing, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in purchasing, specifically within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
- Proven track record in supplier sourcing and negotiation.
- Strong understanding of FDA regulations and pharmaceutical supply chain dynamics.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and ERP systems.
- Must be willing to work in Mandaue City, Cebu.
