We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced QA/QC Engineer (QAQC) to join our prestigious project team based in Serian, Sarawak. As the appointed QA/QC Engineer, you will serve as the primary authority and gatekeeper of quality on-site. Your core responsibility will be to take ownership of the project's comprehensive Quality Management System (QMS). You will be tasked with driving a culture of continuous improvement and rigorously ensuring that all construction works, materials, and processes are executed in strict accordance with approved project specifications, detailed engineering drawings, contractual requirements, and international industry best practices. Your meticulous eye for detail, combined with a proactive and systematic approach, will be absolutely critical in preventing defects, managing risks, and ensuring the ultimate successful and timely delivery of the project to our client's full satisfaction.
This contract role offers a very competitive compensation package, including a monthly salary range of RM 6,000 to RM 6,500. Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain the project’s Quality Management System (QMS) in compliance with ISO 9001:2015 and client requirements.
- Develop and review Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), method statements, and quality checklists.
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and surveillance to monitor construction quality and compliance.
- Manage the entire Non-Conformance Report (NCR) process, including investigation, root cause analysis, and verification of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Review material submittals, shop drawings, and vendor documentation for compliance with project specifications.
- Coordinate with client representatives, consultants, and subcontractor quality teams to resolve quality issues.
- Prepare and maintain detailed quality records, reports, and handover documentation for project close-out.
- Facilitate site walkdowns, system readiness reviews, and punch list closure activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum 4 years of proven experience as a QA/QC Engineer in the construction industry, preferably on power plants or large industrial projects.
- Certified Internal/Lead Auditor for ISO 9001:2015 is highly preferred.
- Strong proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and standards.
- Excellent technical writing and documentation skills for preparing quality reports and procedures.
- Solid understanding of construction materials testing, welding inspection, and civil/structural works is an advantage.
- Possess strong problem-solving skills, integrity, and a high attention to detail.
- Self-starter with excellent communication and leadership abilities to coordinate across teams.
