Responsibilities

  • Perform microbiological analysis of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished nutritional products according to standard operating procedures.
  • Monitor environmental hygiene in production areas through swabbing, air sampling, and water testing to prevent contamination.
  • Document and interpret test results, ensuring timely and accurate reporting to quality assurance and production teams.
  • Investigate out-of-specification results and implement corrective actions in collaboration with the quality team.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment, including calibration, cleaning, and troubleshooting to ensure reliable operations.
  • Assist in the validation of microbiological methods and new testing protocols.
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and providing microbiological expertise.
  • Adhere to all safety, GMP, and HACCP guidelines to maintain a compliant and safe working environment.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Microbiology, Food Science, or a related field; diploma with relevant experience will be considered.
  • Minimum 1–2 years of laboratory experience in a microbiological testing role, preferably in the food, pharmaceutical, or nutraceutical industry.
  • Strong knowledge of microbiological techniques such as plate counting, enrichment, and identification of pathogens.
  • Familiarity with ISO 17025, GMP, and HACCP standards is highly preferred.
  • Proficiency in using laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Good communication skills in English; ability to write clear reports and procedures.
