You will be responsible for overseeing project costs from inception to completion, working closely with contractors, architects, and stakeholders to deliver projects within budget without compromising quality.
Responsibilities
- Manage project costs and prepare accurate budget estimates, cost plans, and feasibility studies.
- Oversee the tender process, including preparing tender documentation and evaluating incoming bids.
- Conduct regular site visits to track progress, verify material usage, and ensure cost control measures are implemented.
- Prepare and manage progress claims, variations, and final accounts for all assigned construction projects.
- Collaborate with architects and engineers to value-engineer designs for optimal cost performance.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of all contractual agreements and financial records.
- Provide regular reporting to senior management on project financial health and risks.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 2-4 years of professional experience in a Quantity Surveying or cost estimation role.
- Strong proficiency in construction measurement standards (SMM2/SMM7/CESMM3).
- Excellent analytical skills and advanced knowledge of MS Excel and industry-standard estimation software.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills for effective interaction with contractors and stakeholders.
- High degree of integrity and attention to detail.
- Willingness to travel to project sites within Penang Island as required.
