Job Description

Are you a detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor looking to join a market-leading construction firm? Kimlun is currently seeking a talented and driven professional to join our project team in Johor Bahru. As a key member of our commercial department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the financial success of our infrastructure and building projects.

In this role, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the contractual and financial side of our construction projects. You will work closely with project managers, subcontractors, and clients to ensure that all work is completed within budget and to the highest standards. Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate cost estimates, cost plans, and detailed budgets for various construction projects.
  • Manage the entire tender process, including the preparation of bills of quantities and evaluation of subcontractor quotations.
  • Administer construction contracts, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions and identifying potential commercial risks.
  • Monitor project expenditure and prepare monthly progress claims and financial reports for management review.
  • Coordinate with site teams and external consultants to verify site progress and authorize payments to subcontractors.
  • Conduct site measurements and prepare valuation of variations to ensure project profitability.
  • Provide expert advice on contractual disputes and assist in resolving claims effectively.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the construction industry, preferably with a main contractor.
  • Strong knowledge of standard forms of contract (e.g., PAM, JCT, FIDIC) and local building regulations.
  • Proficiency in estimation software and Microsoft Excel for complex data analysis.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional registration with recognized boards (e.g., BQSM) is highly regarded.
