Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate cost estimates, budgets, and detailed bills of quantities (BQ) for construction projects.
  • Manage and monitor project expenditure to ensure adherence to established budgets.
  • Conduct regular site visits to assess project progress and verify work completed for interim valuations.
  • Prepare, negotiate, and settle progress claims and final accounts with sub-contractors and clients.
  • Manage contract administration and provide advice on contractual claims and disputes.
  • Perform value engineering and cost-reduction analysis to maximize project profitability.
  • Liaise with procurement teams to source materials and negotiate favorable supplier pricing.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2–4 years of relevant experience in a consultancy or contracting firm.
  • Strong proficiency in industry-standard estimation software and Microsoft Excel.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction contracts (e.g., PAM, JCT, FIDIC) and local building regulations.
  • Excellent analytical, numerical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under strict deadlines.
  • Registered or eligible for registration with the Board of Quantity Surveyors Malaysia (BQSM) is an advantage.
