Responsibilities
- Manage the full spectrum of cost estimation, from initial project budgeting to final account reconciliation.
- Prepare comprehensive tender documentation, including bills of quantities and contract conditions.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor work progress and verify claims from subcontractors and suppliers.
- Negotiate and finalize sub-contractor agreements to ensure favorable commercial terms and risk mitigation.
- Provide proactive commercial advice to project managers regarding project variations, claims, and potential cost overruns.
- Oversee progress payments, certify claims, and prepare detailed financial reports for management review.
- Collaborate with cross-functional project teams to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and industry standards.
Qualifications
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Building, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
- Minimum 3-7 years of relevant working experience in a consultancy or main contractor environment.
- Proven track record of managing large-scale construction projects from inception to completion.
- In-depth knowledge of local construction contracts (PSSCOC, SIA, or FIDIC) and building regulations.
- Strong proficiency in cost management software and Microsoft Excel for complex data analysis.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills with the ability to manage stakeholders at all levels.
- Professional accreditation (e.g., SISV, RICS) is highly desirable but not mandatory.
