As a Risk Surveyor (Non-Life Insurance) at Pioneer Your Insurance in Davao City, you will be the frontline evaluator of potential risks that the company may insure. Your primary mission is to inspect properties, businesses, and assets to determine their insurability, recommend appropriate tariffs, and provide actionable risk improvement advice.
This role is critical in protecting our portfolio while helping clients understand and mitigate their exposures. You will work closely with underwriters, agents, and claims teams to ensure accurate risk assessment and pricing. Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site inspections of residential, commercial, and industrial properties to evaluate physical risks and exposures.
- Identify and document potential hazards (e.g., fire, theft, natural disasters) and recommend preventive measures.
- Prepare detailed risk survey reports with accurate tariff recommendations and risk grading for underwriting decisions.
- Collaborate with underwriters to align risk assessments with policy terms and pricing.
- Provide risk improvement advice to clients and agents, including safety protocols and asset protection strategies.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of insurance regulations, building codes, and industry best practices.
- Manage a schedule of surveys efficiently, ensuring timely completion and submission of reports.
- Participate in training sessions and contribute to continuous improvement of risk assessment methodologies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Insurance Management, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in risk surveying, property inspection, or non-life insurance underwriting.
- Strong analytical and observational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Filipino.
- Ability to work independently in the field and manage multiple assignments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and report writing.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively within the Davao region.
- Professional certifications (e.g., Associate in Risk Management) are a plus.
