Job Description

JPC Malaysia Sdn Bhd is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Safety and Health Officer to join our team at our SEA headquarters in Melaka. We are looking for a professional who will be responsible for implementing and overseeing safety protocols, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with Malaysian occupational safety and health regulations. Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain safety and health policies in accordance with Malaysian OSH regulations and company standards
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and site inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance
  • Develop and deliver safety training programs for workers and management staff
  • Investigate workplace incidents, accidents, and near-misses; prepare detailed reports with corrective action plans
  • Maintain accurate safety documentation, records, and statistical data for regulatory compliance
  • Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to ensure safe work practices are followed
  • Coordinate with external safety agencies, auditors, and regulatory bodies during inspections and audits
  • Promote a safety-first culture through toolbox talks, safety meetings, and awareness campaigns

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Engineering, or related field
  • Certified Safety and Health Officer with Malaysia's Department of Safety and Health (DOSH)
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in construction safety or industrial environment
  • In-depth knowledge of Malaysian OSH Act 1994, Factories and Machinery Act, and relevant regulations
  • Proficiency in conducting risk assessments, hazard identification, and JSA/JHA
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to conduct training sessions
  • Experience with ISO 45001 occupational health and safety management systems is advantageous
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
