In this critical role, you will be responsible for ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for all employees by proactively identifying hazards, assessing risks, and implementing effective control measures to prevent accidents and occupational illnesses. You will play a key part in shaping our safety culture, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring compliance with all relevant occupational safety and health regulations (OSHA, DOSH, etc.).

Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety and health policies, procedures, and programs in line with local regulations and industry best practices.
- Conduct regular workplace inspections, risk assessments, and hazard identification to proactively mitigate potential dangers.
- Investigate all accidents, near misses, and occupational illnesses; prepare detailed reports and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Deliver safety training, toolbox talks, and awareness campaigns to employees at all levels to promote a strong safety culture.
- Coordinate emergency response plans, drills, and first aid arrangements to ensure readiness for any incident.
- Maintain up-to-date records of safety incidents, training, permits, and compliance documentation for regulatory audits.
- Advise management on safety performance, legal obligations, and improvement opportunities; liaise with regulatory bodies (DOSH, NIOSH) as required.
- Monitor the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- Certified Safety and Health Officer (SHO) registered with the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) Malaysia – Green Book holder.
- Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience in safety management, preferably in manufacturing or industrial environments.
- In-depth knowledge of Malaysian OSH legislation, standards, and enforcement procedures.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to engage employees and stakeholders effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and safety management software; experience with ISO 45001 or similar standards is an advantage.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and respond calmly under pressure.
