Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain sterile fields and instruments for orthopaedic surgeries.
- Assist surgeons by passing instruments, sutures, and supplies during procedures.
- Monitor patient vitals and respond to any changes under the direction of the anaesthetist.
- Ensure all surgical supplies are accounted for and manage inventory levels.
- Provide postoperative care instructions and support to patients and families.
- Adhere to infection control protocols and hospital safety standards.
- Participate in team briefings, debriefings, and quality improvement meetings.
- Stay current with orthopaedic techniques through ongoing training and education.
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse with a valid practicing license in Singapore.
- Minimum of 2 years experience in scrubbing or perioperative nursing.
- Specific experience or strong interest in orthopaedic surgical procedures.
- Knowledge of sterile technique, surgical instrumentation, and operating theatre etiquette.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and learning.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.
