Job Description

Liberty General Insurance is seeking a strategic Senior Account Development Manager for the AmBank Bancassurance channel at the Penang branch. In this leadership role, you will own the end-to-end sales lifecycle, from planning and forecasting to execution and performance management. You will lead a high-performing team, develop and manage key bancassurance partnerships, and drive revenue growth by aligning product solutions with client needs. This position requires deep knowledge of life and general insurance products, risk assessment, and cross-functional collaboration with distribution partners, underwriting, product, and marketing. You will set ambitious sales targets, create territory and go-to-market plans, coach your team, monitor KPIs, and ensure compliance with regulatory and internal guidelines. You will also identify new business opportunities within Penang's bancassurance ecosystem, build robust pipelines, and deliver compelling value propositions to AmBank relationship managers and corporate clients. Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the sales function end to end across the bancassurance channel.
  • Develop and execute annual sales plans, forecast accuracy, and revenue targets.
  • Coach and manage a team of account development professionals to achieve top performance.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with AmBank relationship managers and key accounts.
  • Identify cross-sell opportunities and design customised bancassurance solutions.
  • Monitor performance metrics, pipeline health, and compliance with policies.
  • Collaborate with underwriting, product, and marketing to deliver client-centric programs.
  • Prepare and present business reviews to senior leadership.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, or a related field; MBA is a plus.
  • Minimum 5+ years of sales leadership experience in insurance or financial services, preferably bancassurance.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets in a senior BD or sales role.
  • Strong network within Penang bancassurance and banking partners.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills in English and Malay.
  • Ability to translate complex insurance products into client-ready proposals.
  • Leadership skills with the ability to coach and develop talent.
  • Proficiency with CRM tools and sales analytics.
