About the Role
The Advanced Remanufacturing and Technology Centre (ARTC), a unit of the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), is looking for a visionary Senior Development Engineer to join our Digital Manufacturing Division (DMD). This is a high-impact role where you will lead research innovations focused on solving the most complex challenges in the modern digital supply chain. As a Senior Development Engineer, you will be at the forefront of Industry 4.0, developing digital twins, predictive models, and optimization frameworks that drive efficiency and sustainability in manufacturing ecosystems. Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of advanced analytics and optimization models to address supply chain disruptions and logistics bottlenecks.
- Develop scalable software architectures for digital manufacturing platforms, ensuring seamless integration with existing industrial IoT systems.
- Collaborate with industry stakeholders to define project requirements, translate business needs into technical specifications, and deliver pilot-scale solutions.
- Manage end-to-end R&D project lifecycles, including conceptualization, resource allocation, prototyping, and final deployment.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and researchers, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
- Stay current with global trends in AI, Machine Learning, and Operations Research to maintain ARTC’s competitive edge in digital manufacturing.
- Prepare technical reports, patents, and presentations for internal management and external industrial partners.
Qualifications
- Master’s or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in technical development, specifically within supply chain analytics or manufacturing technology.
- Expert-level proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, or Java, and experience with optimization libraries (e.g., Gurobi, CPLEX).
- Demonstrated experience in deploying machine learning models and data visualization tools in a production environment.
- Strong understanding of Industry 4.0 principles, including Cyber-Physical Systems and Digital Twins.
- Excellent project management skills with a track record of meeting delivery milestones in a research-intensive setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
