Pilmico Foods Corporation is seeking a high-performing Senior Manager, Physical Trader (Coal) to join our dynamic trading desk in Singapore. In this strategic role, you will be the driving force behind our physical coal procurement and distribution operations, ensuring seamless supply chain integration and profitability.
The successful candidate will be responsible for originating, executing, and optimizing back-to-back physical coal flows. You will navigate volatile commodity markets, leverage regional logistics networks, and manage complex trade lifecycles to support our operational demands and client commitments. We are looking for a seasoned commercial professional with an analytical mindset, deep knowledge of the APAC coal markets, and the ability to negotiate high-stakes contracts with confidence.

Responsibilities
- Originate and execute physical coal trading strategies to ensure optimal cost-efficiency and supply security.
- Manage end-to-end back-to-back trading operations, including chartering, logistics, and counterparty coordination.
- Monitor global coal market trends, price indices, and regulatory changes to provide actionable insights for senior leadership.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with international suppliers, logistics providers, and end-user clients.
- Mitigate trade risks by utilizing hedging strategies and rigorous contract management.
- Ensure compliance with all maritime and trade regulations within the Asia-Pacific region.
- Collaborate with internal departments to align procurement strategies with manufacturing and plant operational requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; MBA is highly preferred.
- Minimum 8-10 years of experience in physical coal or bulk commodity trading, preferably within a Tier-1 trading house or global manufacturing firm.
- Demonstrated expertise in APAC coal markets, including knowledge of thermal coal specifications and grade differentials.
- Strong background in contract law, incoterms, and trade finance instruments (e.g., Letters of Credit).
- Exceptional negotiation skills and a proven track record of managing profitable trade portfolios.
- Proficiency in market analysis tools and ETRM (Energy Trading and Risk Management) software.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining strict attention to detail.
