As a Senior Purchasing, you will develop and implement strategic sourcing strategies, negotiate contracts with suppliers, and monitor market trends to optimize inventory levels. Responsibilities
- Lead the procurement of raw materials (resins, additives), packaging components (bottles, caps, labels), and operational supplies for plastic packaging production.
- Develop and execute strategic sourcing plans to achieve cost reduction, quality improvement, and supply continuity.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with domestic and international suppliers to secure best value.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with production planning to ensure timely availability of materials.
- Evaluate supplier performance through KPIs (delivery, quality, cost) and conduct regular supplier audits.
- Collaborate with R&D and quality teams to source new materials and support product innovation.
- Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, including market volatility, geopolitical issues, and supplier disruptions.
- Prepare procurement reports, forecasts, and budgets for management review.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of progressive experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably in plastic packaging or manufacturing.
- Strong negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship skills.
- Proven ability to analyze market trends and make data-driven sourcing decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with cross-functional teams and external partners.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of plastic raw materials (e.g., PP, PE, PET) and packaging industry standards is a plus.
- Demonstrated leadership experience, including mentoring junior team members.
