Responsibilities

  • Manage pre and post-contract quantity surveying duties, including preparation of cost estimates, budget plans, and tender documents.
  • Oversee the procurement process, including evaluating tenders from subcontractors and suppliers to ensure cost-effectiveness.
  • Administer contract documentation and provide expert advice on contractual disputes and variation orders.
  • Perform regular site visits for progress valuations and certify subcontractor payment claims.
  • Monitor project cash flow and prepare comprehensive monthly financial reports for management review.
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, and project managers to ensure financial objectives are met throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Negotiate and finalize final accounts with clients and subcontractors efficiently.
  • Mentor junior quantity surveyors and ensure adherence to company procurement policies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 6-8 years of working experience in the construction industry, specifically in large-scale building or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of Malaysian standard forms of contract (e.g., PAM, PWD, CIDB).
  • Proficiency in Glodon, Cubicost, or similar Quantity Surveying software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Professional membership with RISM (Royal Institution of Surveyors Malaysia) or RICS is highly preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure to meet tight project deadlines.
  • Fluency in English; proficiency in Mandarin is an added advantage due to coordination with international stakeholders.
