Responsibilities
- Manage pre and post-contract quantity surveying duties, including preparation of cost estimates, budget plans, and tender documents.
- Oversee the procurement process, including evaluating tenders from subcontractors and suppliers to ensure cost-effectiveness.
- Administer contract documentation and provide expert advice on contractual disputes and variation orders.
- Perform regular site visits for progress valuations and certify subcontractor payment claims.
- Monitor project cash flow and prepare comprehensive monthly financial reports for management review.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, and project managers to ensure financial objectives are met throughout the project lifecycle.
- Negotiate and finalize final accounts with clients and subcontractors efficiently.
- Mentor junior quantity surveyors and ensure adherence to company procurement policies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 6-8 years of working experience in the construction industry, specifically in large-scale building or infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of Malaysian standard forms of contract (e.g., PAM, PWD, CIDB).
- Proficiency in Glodon, Cubicost, or similar Quantity Surveying software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Professional membership with RISM (Royal Institution of Surveyors Malaysia) or RICS is highly preferred.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure to meet tight project deadlines.
- Fluency in English; proficiency in Mandarin is an added advantage due to coordination with international stakeholders.
