Job Description
We are seeking a results-driven Senior Sales Engineer to join Sapura Ge Oil & Gas Services Sdn. Bhd., a leading provider of rotating equipment solutions for the oil and gas industry. In this role, you will define and drive aftermarket sales opportunities, focusing on rotating equipment components, spare parts, and service contracts. You will partner with customers across upstream and downstream segments to understand their technical needs and deliver tailored solutions that improve reliability, availability, and total cost of ownership.
As a key member of the sales team, you will manage the end-to-end bid and quote process, coordinate with engineering and project teams, and lead technical presentations that translate complex specifications into clear value propositions. You will build long-term relationships with operators, EPCs, and service providers, and collaborate with product and service lines to align offers with market demand. The successful candidate will combine technical acumen with strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills, and be comfortable working in a dynamic, offshore, or client-site environment.
Location is Shah Alam/Subang, Malaysia, with opportunities to travel regionally as needed. Competitive salary in the RM 5,500 – RM 8,000 per month range plus performance-based incentives, benefits, and career development opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Identify and qualify aftermarket opportunities in rotating equipment (pumps, turbines, compressors) across oil and gas sectors.
- Lead or participate in bid preparation, pricing, and proposal development to win new business.
- Deliver technical presentations and product demonstrations to customers, addressing performance, reliability, and cost savings.
- Collaborate with engineering, service, and procurement teams to tailor solutions to customer needs.
- Develop and maintain a robust sales forecast, account plans, and pipeline in the CRM system.
- Build and nurture relationships with operators, EPCs, and service partners; conduct regular reviews with key accounts.
- Ensure contract compliance, negotiate terms, and coordinate after-sales support and service agreements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering discipline.
- 5+ years of sales engineering experience in oil and gas, with focus on rotating equipment aftermarket.
- Solid technical knowledge of pumps, turbines, compressors, bearings, seals, and related components.
- Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills in English (Malay preferred).
- Proficiency with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, SAP) and bid management tools; ability to read P&IDs and equipment drawings.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and growing key accounts.
- Willingness to travel regionally and work in dynamic client environments.
