Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of operating rooms, ensuring all equipment and supplies are sterile and ready for surgical procedures
- Monitor patients' vital signs and overall condition during surgical procedures, promptly reporting any changes to the surgical team
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the anesthesiologist and surgical team
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, documenting all interventions and observations
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Provide post-operative care and education to patients and their families
- Adhere to infection control protocols and safety standards to prevent healthcare-associated infections
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives and stay updated on the latest nursing practices and surgical techniques
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse with valid Singapore Nursing Board (SNB) registration
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing or equivalent qualification
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in perioperative nursing, with at least 2 years in an operating theatre setting
- Certification in perioperative nursing or related field is preferred
- Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, sterile techniques, and infection control protocols
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
