Responsibilities
- Oversee and coordinate all daily production activities within the steel fabrication plant to ensure timelines are met.
- Implement and manage production schedules, ensuring optimal resource allocation and minimal downtime.
- Lead, mentor, and supervise a multidisciplinary team of production staff, welders, and technicians.
- Ensure all production processes strictly adhere to Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) regulations and ISO quality standards.
- Collaborate closely with project managers and site engineers to synchronize production output with construction site requirements.
- Monitor and control production costs, identifying opportunities for waste reduction and process efficiency.
- Conduct regular inspections and quality control audits to ensure steel components meet technical specifications and drawings.
- Oversee the maintenance and calibration of heavy machinery and fabrication equipment.
Qualifications
- Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- At least 5-8 years of proven experience in production management, specifically within the steel fabrication or heavy manufacturing industry.
- In-depth knowledge of steel grades, welding processes (WPS/PQR), and structural technical drawings.
- Strong leadership capabilities with a track record of managing large production teams.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies is highly advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work under tight deadlines in a high-pressure environment.
- Possession of relevant safety certifications (e.g., BCSS or Manage Work at Height) is preferred.
- Proficiency in production planning software and Microsoft Office Suite.
