Responsibilities
- Identify, evaluate, and qualify new precision machining suppliers globally and regionally to meet strategic requirements and technical specifications.
- Develop and implement robust supplier development programs to enhance capabilities, improve quality, and ensure timely delivery of precision components.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to achieve optimal cost savings and value, considering total cost of ownership.
- Manage ongoing supplier relationships, conducting regular performance reviews and driving corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with R&D, Engineering, and Production teams to define technical specifications and ensure manufacturability of precision components.
- Monitor market trends, technological advancements, and supply chain risks related to precision machining, implementing mitigation strategies.
- Implement strategic sourcing initiatives to consolidate suppliers, improve efficiency, and mitigate supply chain vulnerabilities.
- Ensure strict compliance with quality standards (e.g., ISO), regulatory requirements, and company policies across the supplier base.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 5-8 years of progressive experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management, with a strong focus on precision machining, metal fabrication, or related manufacturing.
- In-depth knowledge of various precision machining processes (e.g., CNC milling, turning, grinding, EDM) and materials common in automation.
- Proven track record in supplier identification, qualification, development, and performance management.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong, effective relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Strong analytical skills for cost analysis, risk assessment, and comprehensive supplier evaluation.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, global manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001) and supply chain best practices.
