Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive clinical assessments and screenings for patients with speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on evidence-based practices and patient-centered goals.
- Provide bedside dysphagia management and participate in instrumental swallowing evaluations (e.g., VFSS or FEES).
- Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams including doctors, dietitians, and occupational therapists to optimize patient care outcomes.
- Educate patients and their caregivers on therapy strategies, communication aids, and dietary modifications to facilitate recovery.
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records in compliance with institutional and clinical standards.
- Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits, and team case conferences.
Qualifications
- Recognized degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Speech Therapy.
- Full registration (or eligible for registration) with the Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC) of Singapore.
- Minimum 1-2 years of clinical experience, preferably in an acute hospital or rehabilitation setting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build rapport with patients of diverse backgrounds.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced medical environment.
- Proficiency in both English and a second local language is highly advantageous to communicate with diverse patient groups.
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional growth within the field of speech therapy.
