Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop tailored nursing care plans
- Assist ophthalmologists during eye surgeries and procedures, ensuring sterile environment and patient safety
- Administer medications, including topical anaesthetics and eye drops, as prescribed
- Provide pre-operative and post-operative education and counselling to patients and families
- Monitor and document patient recovery, identifying and managing complications promptly
- Perform diagnostic tests such as visual acuity, tonometry, and pachymetry
- Maintain accurate medical records and comply with infection control standards
- Coordinate patient appointments and collaborate with the healthcare team to optimise care pathways
Qualifications
- Valid nursing license registered with the Singapore Nursing Board (SNB)
- Diploma or Degree in Nursing from a recognised institution
- At least 2 years of clinical nursing experience; experience in ophthalmology or perioperative nursing is highly preferred
- Certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) / AED
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-centred approach
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment
- Detail-oriented and committed to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety
- Compassionate and empathetic attitude towards patients and their families
