Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop tailored nursing care plans
  • Assist ophthalmologists during eye surgeries and procedures, ensuring sterile environment and patient safety
  • Administer medications, including topical anaesthetics and eye drops, as prescribed
  • Provide pre-operative and post-operative education and counselling to patients and families
  • Monitor and document patient recovery, identifying and managing complications promptly
  • Perform diagnostic tests such as visual acuity, tonometry, and pachymetry
  • Maintain accurate medical records and comply with infection control standards
  • Coordinate patient appointments and collaborate with the healthcare team to optimise care pathways

Qualifications

  • Valid nursing license registered with the Singapore Nursing Board (SNB)
  • Diploma or Degree in Nursing from a recognised institution
  • At least 2 years of clinical nursing experience; experience in ophthalmology or perioperative nursing is highly preferred
  • Certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) / AED
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-centred approach
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment
