As a Staff Nurse within our renal dialysis unit, you will play a pivotal role in the life-sustaining treatment of patients with chronic kidney disease. You will work alongside a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-standard care, monitor patient progress, and ensure the safety and efficacy of every dialysis session. Responsibilities
- Monitor and record vital signs and hemodynamic status of patients before, during, and after dialysis treatments.
- Prepare dialysis machines and ensure all equipment is sterilized and functioning according to safety protocols.
- Administer medications, intravenous fluids, and blood products as prescribed by the nephrologist.
- Assess vascular access sites to detect complications such as infection or infiltration and initiate corrective actions.
- Provide patient education regarding renal diets, fluid restrictions, and post-dialysis self-care management.
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records (EMR) for all patient encounters.
- Collaborate with the renal care team to adjust treatment plans based on patient laboratory results and clinical assessment.
Qualifications
- Current Singapore Nursing Board (SNB) registration with a valid Practicing Certificate.
- Diploma or Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
- Minimum 1–2 years of clinical experience; renal or dialysis experience is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in cannulation and dialysis machine operation.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to support patients experiencing chronic illness.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including weekends and public holidays, as required by the unit.
- Demonstrated ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure medical environments.
