Responsibilities
- Lead, supervise, and motivate production teams to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly output targets while maintaining quality and safety standards.
- Plan, organize, and monitor production schedules to ensure on-time delivery and efficient resource allocation.
- Implement and enforce lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and continuous improvement initiatives to optimize workflows and reduce waste.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, provide coaching, and identify training needs to enhance team capabilities and career growth.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain) to resolve production issues, improve processes, and drive cost reduction.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as yield, throughput, and downtime; generate reports and present findings to senior management.
- Ensure strict compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulations and company policies; promote a culture of safety first.
- Manage inventory levels of raw materials and work-in-progress to prevent shortages and minimize excess stock.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Management, or a related field. Diploma with relevant experience will be considered.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in production supervision or management within a manufacturing environment; experience in photonics, optics, or electronics is highly preferred.
- Proven track record of leading teams to meet production goals and implementing process improvements.
- Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt certification is a plus), and Kaizen methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills with the ability to work under pressure.
- Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel for data analysis.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency in English and Bahasa Malaysia (Mandarin is an advantage).
- Must be willing to work in Batu Kawan, Penang, and be flexible to support shift operations when needed.
