Join Virtu Financial, a global leader in high-frequency trading technology, as a Systems Engineer in Singapore. Our trading platform runs on high performance servers distributed across data centers and offices worldwide. You will help design, deploy and optimize the infrastructure that supports low-latency, high-throughput trading strategies. The role blends systems engineering, site reliability, and software engineering to ensure robust performance, security and reliability in a mission-critical environment.
As a key member of the infrastructure team, you will collaborate with software developers, traders and SREs to manage on-prem and cloud-native components, monitor system health, optimize capacity planning, and implement automation that reduces manual toil. You will work with Linux-based servers, containerized workloads, network fabrics, and storage arrays, leveraging modern toolchains to maintain 24/7 availability and predictable latency for market data and order routing.

Responsibilities
- Design, deploy and operate reliable, low-latency infrastructure supporting trading platforms across on-prem and cloud environments.
- Monitor performance, capacity, and incident responses to ensure 24/7 availability and predictable latency.
- Collaborate with software engineers, traders and SREs to translate requirements into scalable infrastructure solutions.
- Implement automation for deployment, configuration management and incident remediation using Python, Ansible, Terraform and related tools.
- Ensure security, compliance and data integrity across all infrastructure components.
- Manage virtualization, networking, storage and backup strategies, including disaster recovery planning.
- Lead post-incident reviews and drive continuous improvement through metrics and on-call learning.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3+ years as a Systems Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer or similar role in financial services or high-performance environments.
- Strong Linux expertise with scripting in Python or Bash and a passion for automation.
- Experience with virtualization/containerization (VMware, Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud platforms (on-prem + cloud).
- Solid networking knowledge (TCP/IP, routing protocols) and storage concepts.
- Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK) and incident response processes.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication and teamwork; comfortable working on-call.
- Knowledge of financial markets or high-frequency trading is a plus.
